She plays a doting mum to triplets in the hit US series This Is Us. And Mandy Moore has become a mother in real life too, welcoming her first baby, a boy called August (Gus), with her husband Taylor Goldsmith.

The singer-turned-actress shared the happy news with her 4.5 million followers on Instagram last week. Posting a photo of the newborn’s hands and half of his face on 23 February, Mandy affectionately wrote, “Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T.”

Mandy’s co-star Chrissy Metz, who plays her daughter Kate Pearson in the Emmy-nominated NBC show, commented under the gorgeous snap, “Oh my heavens! Welcome, Gus!”
