Back in 2007, Kate Humble made the brave leap to leave behind the bright lights of London for rural country living on a farm in Wales. Along with her husband, TV producer Ludo Graham, Kate, 52, has fully embraced the simple life. In fact, she loves it so much she filmed her journey for the series Escape To The Farm, and even wrote a book about it.
A Year Of Living Simply came about for Kate when she reached her fifties and dealt with the tragic loss of two people very close to her. “The catalyst was when I lost both my dad and my father-in-law two years ago, all within a month,” Kate tells us. “For me, that was a stark reminder that you only get one shot at life.”
Following 10 years of hosting Springwatch alongside Chris Packham, Kate now presents her own TV shows, which explore her passions for wildlife and travel, including a new series of Kate Humble’s Coastal Britain – something she’s filming now.
But away from work, Kate is very busy running her farm and enjoying the UK and all it has to offer. It sounds like her new life is one she’s in no rush to ever leave.
Here, she tells us all about it…
The Escape To The Farm TV series was a huge success for you, wasn’t it?
