ZARA MCDERMOTT ON FACING UP TO TABOO SUBJECTS HER NEW VENTURE AND RUBBING SHOULDERS WITH ROYALTY

She found fame through her stint in the Love Island villa in 2018 and, since leaving the show, former civil servant Zara McDermott has not stopped surprising us.

The 25-year-old has won praise for helping to shine a light on revenge porn and rape culture, and tear down the taboos that force victims to hide their stories, by opening up about her own experiences in her BBC Three documentaries.

“I’m so passionate about the films I make and being able to talk about real issues that affect young people that have been incredibly taboo subjects in the past,” Zara said at a recent BBC Three press event.
