How important do you think is it for Hindi cinema to make content driven movies?

It is very important. I think finally we have grown up and now I am relieved to see that there are people who know how to write scripts like this. So, I think it’s extraordinarily important and I am so delighted that more films like this are being made, not enough of course, we can always crib about that but at least something is happening.

How was your experience dealing with the CBFC?

I fortunately didn’t have to deal with them, Alankrita (the director) poor dear, suffered through all that. Well, the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) has shown that they are a very confused bunch who are not really keeping pace with the times, and they are a lot that believe in imposing their ideas on everyone else. I think that is a dangerous trend. They are a Certification Board and that’s the role they should play.

Your legendary Sarabhai VS Sarabhai is back as a web series. How does it feel?

Good. I am enjoying the process of listening to what people have to say about it.

Do you relate with the character of Maya Sarabhai in real life?

Yes, I do absolutely.

Can you tell us about your upcoming projects?
