Dog owner Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS) has teamed up with Royal Canin to bring awareness to pet obesity through their “Fight the Beg” pet weight campaign.
Digest: How did you get involved with this campaign?
Alison Sweeney: I’ve been a pet owner my whole life. It’s really important to me to take good care of my animals, and as a mom, I want to teach my kids to take good care of our dogs. Royal Canin came to me with this idea to help people be aware of the obesity in pets in the United States. I don’t think people realize that half of the pets in the U.S. are overweight. “Fight the Beg” encourages pet owners to avoid giving their cat or dog so many treats because it’s making their pet uncomfortable and actually part of what’s giving their pet a weight problem. It was great to get involved with them and raise awareness.
