Australia's Most Evil Female Killer

It’s been two decades since abattoir worker Katherine Knight murdered her partner, but the twisted and sadistic crime still shocks today. John Price, 44, had been stabbed 37 times, with all his vital organs – including his lungs, kidney and liver – hit, leaving blood all over the house. But that wasn’t the worst of it …

On March 1, 2000, when police arrived at Price’s home located in the sleepy town of Aberdeen in the Hunter Valley, NSW, they found a pool of blood in the hallway, with more red splatters discovered throughout the house. It was a gruesome crime scene that would haunt the police forever.

The couple had been together for about four years. Reports at the time of Price’s murder state their relationship was fraught with problems, with one of the biggest being Knight’s violent outbursts. Their relationship was fuelled by alcohol; they were often seen intoxicated at the local pub.

John, however, was described as a “friendly, good-natured bloke who [was] well-liked”. So why did Knight turn on her partner in the most horrific way?

After stabbing Price to death, Knight committed unimaginable acts of cannibalism. She chopped off her partner’s head and proceeded to boil various parts of his body. Shockingly, she then served the body parts on two plates alongside portions of baked potato, vegetables and gravy. Police found name cards with the names of Price’s children on the table. Knight then positioned the rest of Price’s body on his favourite chair, crossing his legs.
