Jake Gyllenhaal ‘I want to be A FAMILY MAN'

He starred in his first film at the tender age of 11 and just a decade later received critical acclaim for his breakout role in Donnie Darko. That was just the beginning for Jake Gyllenhaal. The 40-year-old has since starred in countless films and theatre productions and has been nominated for and won several awards. But while he’s been on top of his game in his acting career for years now, Gyllenhaal’s goals have more recently moved to his personal life.

“That’s all I want is to be a good husband and a father,” the actor admitted while appearing on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show recently. “That really is what I want and now that I have fulfilled a lot of things in my career that I feel comfortable with, I can safely say that. I don’t know if I could have said that before.”

While Gyllenhaal has always remained intensely private about his relationships – despite previous high-profile romances with the likes of Kristen Dunst, Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift – the star’s stance has appeared to soften of late. He made his red carpet debut with girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu at the New York Film Festival premiere of The Lost Daughter on September 29, which they attended alongside Gyllenhaal’s sister Maggie and her husband Peter Sarsgaard.
