Tosh Zhang proves he has way more than just comedic chops in My Love Sinema.

You might recognise Tosh Zhang from Jack Neo’s Ah Boys To Men trilogy but he was well known even before that. He became a YouTube star in late 2010, with his commentary on, well, anything and everything. He’s also a talented musician, having written, composed and performed the theme song, ‘Recruit’s Anthem’, from Ah Boys To Men. His other musical claim to fame is writing the cult hit ‘LimPeh’, a Hokkien rap song he did with ShiGGa Shay, which reached the top spot on iTunes Singapore the day it was released. In My Love Sinema, Tosh takes on the role of Kheong, a starry-eyed kampong boy who struggles against all odds to pursue his dream to be a master projectionist and to win the affections of his first love, a pretty schoolteacher, Wei (Cheryl Wee).

This is your very first period movie and quite a drastic departure from your roles in previous movies. Was that a great challenge for you and why you tried out for this role?
