Sian Gibson and Johnny Vegas take to the high seas for another comic murder mystery
A murderer disguised in a cuddly dolphin outfit and a giant chocolate bar being used as a weapon might raise eyebrows in an Agatha Christie adaptation, but they’re par for the course in Christmas Gold’s deliciously daft whodunit Death on the Tyne.
The feature-length comedy is a follow-up to last year’s Murder on the Blackpool Express, which saw bubbly tour guide Gemma (Sian Gibson) leading a deadly coach trip with driver Terry (Johnny Vegas), who caught the killer.
This time, they reunite with cheery pensioner Mildred (Sheila Reid) to take her and her retirement home pals on a cruise from Newcastle to Holland on board the Empress of the Tyne.
However, they are soon at the mercy of a serial killer who embarks on a murderous spree disguised in the costume of the ship’s mascot, Dippy the Dolphin.
We caught up with Vegas and Gibson to hear more…
