The Hound joins jon’s perilous mission beyond the Wall
Is the northern outpost of Eastwatch destined to join Blackwater and Hardhome in Game of Thrones fan folklore as the place of an epic battle?
It’s the penultimate episode of the current series and usually in Thrones that means carnage – last season was marked with the jaw-dropping Battle of the Bastards.
This time, things have been hotting up nicely. At the end of episode five we saw the unlikely rabble of The Hound, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros, Davos Seaworth, Jon Snow and Jorah Mormont heading out beyond the Wall. Their mission? To capture a Wight – one of the reanimated corpses raised from death by the White Walkers to be in their army – in order to prove to Cersei that she needs to join forces with Daenerys and Jon to fight this threat to all of their existence.
Needless to say, however, the Wights aren’t just going to come out with their (decaying) hands up.
