Pedro Pascal returns to track down a ruthless and powerful drugs cartel in narcos
You’d be forgiven for thinking that the death of Pablo Escobar in the season-two finale would have meant the end for true-life drama Narcos.
After all, Escobar (played by Wagner Moura) had been the central figure in the hit Netflix show as the head of the Medellín drugs cartel and one of the world’s most wanted men.
However, the positive response to the drama persuaded Netflix to continue the story, this time focusing on the equally turbulent years following Escobar’s death.
‘We pick up season three just after Escobar’s death, which is obviously a huge win for the Drug Enforcement Administration,’ says Pedro Pascal, who plays DEA Agent Javier Peña. ‘But the cocaine industry grows even bigger after Escobar’s death.’
