The Great British Bake Off’s back with a new batch of oven-ready contestants…
NEW COOKERY
The Great British Bake OffTuesday, C4 HD, 8pm
Last year, The Great British Bake Off hit the headlines when the shock move from the BBC to C4 proved a surprise success. New presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig and judge Prue Leith (who joined Paul Hollywood) went down a treat, and it was business as usual in the famous white tent.
This week, a new batch of talented bakers battle it out to impress the judges with their breads, biscuits and fabulous showstoppers. Here, the show’s four stars tell us why this year the competition is better than ever…
Do you feel vindicated that the show has worked so well on C4?
Toksvig The main thing is that you just don’t want to let anybody down. People love the show and you don’t want to break it, so it’s lovely that not only did we not break it, but we’ve cherished it. We feel happier this year.
