Simon’s led down a dark path by new ‘pal’ Jacob

When Simon found grieving Leanne comatose on the sofa after taking sleeping pills, he vowed to step up and take care of her. So when he discovers she’s behind with their electricity payments, and Leanne pooh-poohs his suggestion that they approach Nick for help, he gratefully accepts the offer of a small loan from Jacob, a workmate at the chippy.
