THE GREAT CELEBRITY BAKE OFF

 TUE, 8PM, C4 COOKERY

A spoonful of stardust is being folded in with the flour as a fresh batch of famous faces head to the white tent of dreams for this year’s series of C4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer.

Hosted by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, each of the five episodes will see four hopefuls battle it out to win the coveted Star Baker apron.

Here, TV Times chats to judges Paul Hollywood, 56, and Dame Prue Leith, 82, about triumphs, disasters and marzipan…

Which of the celebrities did you most enjoy meeting?

PAUL Ellie Goulding; I love her music. We had a laugh and she’s a decent baker.

Motsi Mabuse had flair, too. Emma Willis was funny, and just looking at Blake Harrison made me laugh – I’m a big fan of The Inbetweeners. His baking made me laugh as well, but for different reasons!

DAME PRUE I loved Ruby Wax. She’s such an interesting woman and great fun.

How competitive were this year’s stars?

PAUL Ellie really wanted to win Star Baker – she’d been practising – and Tracy-Ann Oberman was very driven.

Sir Mo Farah was singleminded. He knew he wasn’t the best, but he had tenacity.

DAME PRUE A lot of them think it’ll be a laugh, but then suddenly they want to win.

But Mo was an absolute delight. He was totally ungrand, even though he’s sporting royalty.
