BEFORE WE DIE
NEW WEDNESDAY / C4 / 9PM / EP 1 of 6 / DRAMA
Lesley Sharp is no stranger to playing crime-fighters, having portrayed DC Janet Scott in five series of ITV’s Scott & Bailey and real-life DC Margaret Oliver in BBC1’s factual drama, Three Girls.
But now the Manchester-born actor is starring as a very different kind of copper in C4’s new thriller, Before We Die, based on the hit Swedish series of the same name.
The six-parter is set in Bristol and sees Lesley play Hannah Laing, a conflicted detective inspector whose married lover, fellow officer Sean Hardacre (ex Corrie and Emmerdale star Bill Ward), mysteriously disappears.
Teaming up with investigator Billy Murdoch (Poldark’s Vincent Regan), who was helping Sean look into eastern European drug gangs operating in the city, Hannah soon finds herself up against a powerful Croatian crime family, the Mimicas, who have a connection to her estranged son, Christian (The Tudors’ Patrick Gibson).
