Spare a thought for child star Milo Parker. While his fellow actors in ITV’s Sunday night smash hit The Durrells are allowed to sunbathe between takes, 14-year-old Milo has to catch up on his schoolwork!
Still, life’s not all bad for the rising star, who gets to play with a menagerie of cute animals – including donkeys, puppies and hedgehogs – in his role as budding conservationist Gerry Durrell. Milo, who also starred with Sir Ian McKellen and Laura Linney in the 2015 movie Mr Holmes, snuck away from his books for a quick catch up with TV Times during filming. Here, he tells all about his furry co-stars, working with Keeley Hawes and what it’s like to get bitten by an otter…
I was very nervous of the pelicans…
They’re called Pelican and Pelican’t and one of them bit my shoulder in the middle of a take last year. I’m more comfortable with them this series. We also worked with an otter and I got bitten on my knee. From then on I was nervous!
