WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?

NEW SUNDAY-FRIDAY / ITV / TIMES VARY / EPS 1-6 of 6 / QUIZ SHOW

After being gripped by ITV drama Quiz starring Michael Sheen and Matthew Macfadyen last month, many of us will be watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with fresh eyes when Jeremy Clarkson returns to host the show this week.

With quizzes helping to keep the nation’s spirits up during lockdown, the timing couldn’t be better for Millionaire to hit our screens again, especially as Jeremy promises us that there’s lots to look forward to in this new week-long run.

Here, in a typically honest interview, Jeremy, 60, tells TV Times what he’s learnt from his two years at the helm of the series, and who he’d like to play him in a future series of Quiz

What can fans expect from the new series?

It’s well worth watching. There are some really good, uplifting moments in this series. When you watch someone who is doing really well, and you feel deserves the money, you’re just willing them on.

What qualities make a good contestant, do you think?

A photographic memory – that seems to be the most important thing. You have to be able to look at the dates of every king and queen and be able to remember them. That would be a very useful attribute to have.

Is it important for competitors to take risks in the hot seat as well?
