REMATCH OF THE DAY!

Harry Redknapp and his team of ex-England legends did their country proud last year when they lost weight and went on to defeat a squad of former German stars for ITV’s Harry’s Heroes. And to top it off, their 4-2 triumph had the same scoreline as the 1966 World Cup final when England beat West Germany to lift the coveted trophy.

However, since the series aired, the retired top-flight players – including Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier and Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock – have fallen back into bad habits.

So when their European counterparts challenged them to a rematch, Harry realised his lads would have to get back in shape or risk a painful defeat at the hands of their old foes. There are also new recruits to the team: striker Michael Owen and midfielder Lee Hendrie.

We’ll follow the story behind the rematch and see highlights of the game in this week’s three-parter, Harry’s Heroes: Euro Having a Laugh.

TV Times called Harry, 73, who managed teams including Spurs and West Ham during his four decades as a football coach, to find out more…
