Harry Potter star Rupert grint on playing a man pretending to have cancer and how Ron Weasley changed his life…
NEW COMEDY
Sick Note
TUESDAY / SKY ONE / 10.00PM
A comedy about someone pretending to have cancer sounds in bad taste. But before you reach for the remote, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is quick to reassure TV Times that there’s nothing offensive about his new Sky One series Sick Note.
The six-part series sees Rupert play compulsive liar Daniel Glass, who’s stuck in a failing relationship and a dead end job, where he is under the thumb of his megalomaniac boss Kenny West (Miami Vice’s Don Johnson)
Just when things couldn’t get any worse, he’s diagnosed with esophageal cancer. However, everyone starts to treat him better because of his diagnosis.
So when Daniel discovers he has been misdiagnosed by bumbling Dr Glennis (film star and Mr. Sloane’s leading man Nick Frost), he decides to keep pretending to be ill rather than go back to his old life.
Here Rupert, 29, tells us more about the dark comedy – and the legacy of playing Ron Weasley…
So, Rupert, tell us about your character Daniel, what’s he like?
