‘This pushed me to the limits...'

During what must surely be the most ambitious and expensive week in Coronation Street history, lives are changed for ever as revenge plans take hold amid a backdrop of watery mayhem courtesy of the Platts’ collapsed sinkhole.

At the forefront of the drama is grieving mum Abi, who’s intent on putting a bullet in her son Seb’s killer, Corey… only for the two of them to plunge into a sewer!

TV Times caught up with star Sally Carman to talk about the dramatic showdown and why this year has been extra special…

Abi plans to kill Corey to avenge the murder of son Seb. Is she capable of going through with it?

She absolutely is capable of going through with it, yes! She has that personality; that flaw, I guess. It’s like when someone’s drunk and they don’t think about the consequences, so they don’t temper their behaviour.

She just thinks in the moment and cannot be shifted. She’s so stubborn in her decisions, especially when they’re decisions of the heart.

Corey’s life is going from strength to strength. Does that add salt to Abi’s wounds?

That’s the fuel, the motivation. Abi absolutely loves Kevin and Jack, but it’s those moments seeing Corey that pierce more than the love she has for those two.
