PROTECT YOUR ENERGY
IF THERE’S one thing most of us want more of it’s energy. But while there’s plenty of advice available on the best superfoods, supplements and exercises for vitality, an area that tends to be overlooked is our energetic wellbeing.
Each of us is surrounded by an energy field or aura that’s sensitive to the energy of our environment and the people around us.
While things such as time spent in nature and uplifting music recharge our energy, others – including the negative words, thoughts and emotions of others, environmental toxins, alcohol, illness, shock and trauma – have a draining effect, which is where energy protection can help.
”It’s basically a way of symbolically putting something around you so you’re unhurt and unaffected by the stresses, upsets and antagonisms of life,” explains Richard Webster, author of Psychic Protection for Beginners.
While we can all benefit from energy protection, if you live or work with difficult, needy or negative people, are in a healing or caring profession, or are intuitive or sensitive, it’s particularly vital.
There are many ways to cleanse and safeguard your energy, from meditation to visualisation, but the key is finding what works for you.
“Pick two or three things you think you can do or easily access, and make them ‘habitual rituals’,” advises Australian energetic therapist Jacqui Bushell.
Here are some of the best techniques recommended by experts.
