THE PLANTER'S WIFE DINAH JEFFERIES
An epic romance of a young Englishwoman, Gwendolyn Hooper and owner of a vast tea empire in Colonial Ceylon, Laurence, the fictional tale is set in the beautiful tea estates of Ceylon. Gwendolyn depicts her life as a wife in which she encounters many hindrances, from hostile tea plantation workers to a treacherous sister-in-law, shattering the picture-perfect life she had dreamt of.
Amidst all the animosity, Gwendolyn meets a local Sinhalese man whose intentions are questionable and she stumbles upon a load of troubling questions that are yet to be answered: Why is no one willing to talk about her husband’s first wife? Who’s lying in the unmarked grave in the forest?
Gwendolyn is forced to face her husband’s dark past, placing her in a dilemma with an array of life-altering choices to choose from.
