Post lockdown, jewellers have reopened their showrooms with hopes of reviving the sales and getting back to normal. Since safety of the customers and staff has become the priority now, all jewellers are taking precautionary measures to provide a safe shopping experience.

Apart from the use of sanitizers and masks, in some areas such as Mumbai where there are congested shops – jewellers are opening shops in odd-even days, that is shops on each side of a street will open on alternative days. This is to ensure social distancing and safety of customers. In such a scenario, where manufacturing of new jewellery would be a challenge, many jewellers are planning to offer higher salary to karigars for jewellery making so that they can meet the expected jewllery demand during popular festivals like Dussehra and Diwali.
