Do I make sense?” I ask myself. I often wonder if the person conversing with me is paying attention to what I am saying or listening to me out of pity. If it’s the former, I worry if I’m making sense. If it’s the latter, then I have to figure out how to stop the conversation. Among the many conversations Dalit women have with themselves, these questions run like an undercurrent. But these aren’t the questions running through my head as I sit down with hot tea in hand and a heart full of admiration for my conversation with Christina Dhanaraj.
