This issue: TCFF’s DYLAN ISAACS puts the new Water Strider through its paces.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS BOAT
The initial look of the vessel does not give the impression that it is very stable, but what we found was totally to the contrary. The Water Strider (WS) is highly stable, and you feel completely relaxed standing upright on the boat and casting – in fact, you have to remind yourself not to step off it! And when moving from spot to spot, it proved very stable too. There are two stabilisers locked into place upfront, which, even with a chop or wake from another boat passing, hold the vessel steady. Surprisingly, the WS is extremely manoeuvrable and turns on a tickey. Both seats are comfortable, and should you choose to row the vessel, you would use the lower one to sit on, with the higher seat acting as the perfect back support.
