Still going strong,a classic with a glass cockpit
Not many aircraft models have been copied or reproduced as much as the Piper Cub. The famous yellow tail dragger from Lock Haven, PA has been both a loved training platform for generations of aviators as well as an inspiration for many other aircraft manufacturers. But many pilots don't want to settle for anything less than the original.
Not surprisingly then, it is a viable business to keep the classic Cubs flying. A business Bert van de Bunte knows like no other. Only 23 years old, he operates and restores Piper Super Cubs. "They are still the best option for tail wheel instruction, glider towing, banner towing, and a whole lot of other utility jobs."
