COLOUR ME CONTEMPORARY
Matt black is a sought-after colour choice, especially as it gives contemporary brassware a bold profile, says Emma Joyce, brand manager (bathrooms) of Victoria + Albert Baths. Italtile agrees that matt black is being used a lot – from taps to basins and cottage pen shower screens.
But blues and greens also feature prominently as nature takes the lead in design inspiration. White remains a timeless classic, especially for subway tiles – a key bathroom trend. And custom-designed wallpaper is popular as it allows you to create a space unique to your home.
AU NATUREL
With more time being spent at home, there’s a shift towards natural aesthetics, says Elizma Nass, global marketing director of special projects for DADOquartz Bathware. Locally sourced materials such as tumbling bush and tree stem logs add an element of freedom to bathroom design.
“The combinations and additions of materials to create unique textured surfaces and decorative elements are not only a trend, they are a must,” she says.
