Is the time right?
Why is this a good time to invest in housing theme, especially since the real estate sector has seen a downturn over the last few years? We have been hearing about how people are leaving metro cities and returning to their hometowns owing to the pandemic. So, how does it make sense to bet on the housing sector? Well, the biggest reason to consider allocating a part of your wealth to housing as a theme is the fact that, despite all extenuating circumstances, housing remains an integral human need, just like food and clothing. Further, while the pandemic did cause many people to shift base, the vaccination drive and a mild third wave have prompted offices to consider reopening their facilities and begin a transition to the pre-COVID normal. It is likely that the post-COVID normal will not require people to work from office full-time, but they will need to attend office at least a few times each week, meaning that people will return to the cities and look for accommodation.
