ROLEX'S PROFESSIONAL SERIES OF WATCHES has been home to some of its most understated-ness (as understated as a brand bearing the crown motif can be) timepieces, but the recent edition of Watches & Wonders has cast new light on another collection within the Professional repertoire: the Yacht-Master.
To someone unacquainted with the world of watchmaking, the Yacht-Master line was designed specifically for navigators and skippers. It is easily recognised by its bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel made entirely from precious metal (gold or platinum) or fitted with a Cerachrom insert in high-technology ceramic; and of course, the biggest difference between a Yacht-Master and other watches in Rolex's professional line-up is that it comes exclusively in precious metals and sometimes, even all blinged out.
