The men behind Brendan Rodgers hail the latest championship win
It’s a fitting way to win the league. We were obviously disappointed with not being able to do it earlier at Easter Road but that gave us extra motivation going into this game, not that we needed it. The boys have been superb for the last two seasons so it was a great way to round it all off.
The pressure was on but the team delivered. They’ve done that on numerous occasions so it’s no surprise. The manager prepares them and mentally frames things so they go into the game knowing their roles and knowing the job that they have to do, and they go and perform every time.
This is a great achievement for them again. Seven titles in a row is amazing and we’ve shown on our day, when we perform, we’re very difficult to beat.
If you had to pick a way of doing it, this was probably the perfect way. We had the intention of going to Easter Road and finishing it off last week. That wasn’t to be but in terms of being a Celtic fan, you know what it’s all about. If you get the opportunity to play at Celtic Park in front of your home fans against Rangers and win the title, then there’s no better way.
Seven league titles is amazing. I just take it season on season. There’s always that expectation to go and win but you just need to keep churning games out and hopefully winning league titles and other trophies. We’ve been in a good place for the last couple of years and the boys keep pushing forward themselves without us having to push them too much. They’re a great squad to work with and we’re enjoying every moment of it now. We just have to make sure we keep striving to move forward and maintain the gap between us and our rivals.
