Players savour title triumph and set sights on Scottish Cup final
IT was a great performance. Everybody was on top form and it was great to be involved in.
We wanted to win, and we wanted to win the league championship, and there’s no better team to do it against than your rivals from across the city. It was a big game for us and we knew we had prepared really well for it, so it’s good when it all comes together and you put in a performance like that.
There was a great atmosphere and a great noise coming from the stands and from the very first minute of the game we put Rangers under a lot of pressure. We created a lot of chances in the first 10 minutes and it only seemed a matter of time for the first goal to come, and when it did, we grew from strength to strength and went on to dominate the game.
We were confident in the way we were going to perform. You never know how many goals you’re going to score but, certainly in our preparations, we felt good and ready to play, and that shone through.
The clean sheet percentage keeps ticking along nicely. It was a great result and there wasn’t too much for me to do, but when I had to come up with a couple of saves, I managed to keep the scoreline blank. We’ve had a couple of 5-1 wins against Rangers so it’s nice to get a 5-0 now as well.
