If you begin the growing season full of hope and the promise of seedlings – only to find your hopes fade as your tomatoes fail to thrive, you need the crack team at The Real Food Garden.
During the economic meltdown in 2008 – the one product that saw its sales skyrocket was seeds. As people sought to grow their own, often with more enthusiasm than luck.
Today the interest in growing your own has more to do with climate awareness and the simple pleasures of tending your own plot. Professional growers Amelia Lake and Chloe Bines grow more than 50 different types of vegetables in their no-dig, organic market garden near Wadebridge.
Producing a weekly veg supply for more than 40 families and farmers markets, as well as stocking their own shop and restaurants – it’s clear that they know how to grow nutritious food all year round.
Now they are sharing their expertise with a series of Grow Your Own workshop starting this month to help gardeners and allotment holders to grow their own vegetables.
