Folk dance is an integral part of our culture, but with few young takers, is it on the verge of extinction?

With the advent of modernisation and westernisation, the change in culture and tradition among the populace of the country is obvious. The clothes that we wear, the songs that we listen to, and the food that we eat, have diversified largely; we no longer limit ourselves with only one kind. Like the rest of the country, people in the Northeast have started to acknowledge and accept the change in the air. However, people in the region are also asking themselves an important question of whether we are losing touch with our own culture in the name of diversification.
