Cara Delevingne has come a long way since she first made a name for herself walking the runway for some of the world’s biggest fashion houses and getting into our books as the next fresh face to watch out for. More than half a decade later, she has established herself as model royalty while fronting countless advertising campaigns and collaborating with fashion brands.
Fortunately, the bright 25-year-old saw the signs early on and decided to put her modelling career on hold, steering her way to pursue other passions instead. She built a name as a budding actress, acting in movies like Paper Towns, Suicide Squad, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (where she also lent her voice to the soundtrack) and most recently, Tulip Fever, while picking up a few awards along the way. At the same time, Cara put her novelist cap on and released a suspense-filled book called Mirror, Mirror.
With over 41 million followers on Instagram, she definitely has a powerful voice on social media. A feminist herself, Cara is using her fame to empower women around the world through her philanthropic work with Girl Up and the United Nations High Commission For Refugees (UNHCR). Clearly, there’s nothing stopping her from achieving more than everyone else her age.
Today, Cara is the face of Dior’s new Capture Youth range – a fitting title we reckon – and in this exclusive interview, she spills the beans on beauty, the new campaign, her role models, and everything in between.
FEMALE: How would you define beauty in three words?
Cara: “Happiness, confidence, individuality.”
F: When it comes to your skin, what is your main concern?
