He further points out that if you compare a property investment to where your money is in the bank, it’s a lot better than any shares or a fixed deposit account, because your capital is growing and you’re still getting a return on investment. So if you’re considering investing long term, the property is the way to go. HOW TO RECOGNISE WHEN IT ’S A GOOD MOMENT TO INVEST

It boils down to the area you’re looking to invest in, so do your research. From a timing point of view, if you’re investing in a good neighborhood, start sooner rather than later. It makes sense to invest in the lower property market (under R1 million), as there’s a greater demand compared to the higher property market, which is under pressure.
