Star Beauty Talk

Jo-Ann Strauss

From model and former Miss South Africa to an acclaimed industry maestro in entertainment, Jo-Ann is one celeb who has seamlessly transformed and evolved her brand to global status. TV host, presenter, MC and modern mom (IG: @modernmommyblog), she does it all. She’s a devotee of Environ Skin Care and is a beauty inspiration for many women in South Africa, with a significant and devoted fan following. She shares her beauty must-haves, mantras, tips and tricks.

HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR SKIN LOOKING SO FLAWLESS AND RADIANT?

When it comes to skincare, the earlier you start the better. I am big on hydration and love to hydrate my skin. However, it’s not only about water – before travelling on a long flight I like to do an Environ facial so that my skin takes in lovely nutrients and feels rejuvenated afterwards.

YOUR LIFESTYLE ENTAILS A LOT OF INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL. WHAT BEAUTY PRODUCTS DO YOU ALWAYS PACK IN YOUR CARRY-ON LUGGAGE DURING LONG-HAUL FLIGHTS?

Flying can suck out all the moisture from your skin. I love the Environ VitaAntioxidant Hydrating Oil Capsules – they’re my absolute go-to when travelling. I use one just before I take o‰ and then again when I land for an instant hydration boost. I am o‰ to Mauritius soon and will use the Environ RAD Antioxidant sunscreen. I am very big on protecting my skin with sunscreen.

WHAT BEAUTY PHILOSOPHY OR MANTRA HAVE YOU LEARNT THAT YOU HOPE TO PASS ON TO OTHERS?

Be kind to yourself. Most of us are fearful of getting old, when in fact it is actually a privilege. Don’t try to have the skin of a 20-year-old when you are in your 50s – just make sure you have the best possible skin at whatever point you are in your life by valuing and looking after yourself. Take time for self-care and pamper rituals.
