“So, you must know everything then!” Elaine jokes right even before our seats have warmed. I laugh – after all, this isn’t the first time we’re meeting for a chat, the first being two years ago – but her words couldn’t have been further from the truth. For while time has not diminished her charmingly dignified poise, still mixed in with humour and endearing colloquial lingo, it’s certainly brought about a whirlwind of change for her. For starters, we're seated on the 41st floor of the myEG Tower, where rehearsals for Miss Universe Malaysia (MUMO) usually take place (she’s its national director). Auditions for Bakat Ohsem Malaysia, a local talent show on hurr.tv, Elaine’s very own online TV channel, take place on the level right above us.
