Time for a quick change!
Let's Talk|January 2020
It’s the time of the year when you may have an invitation or two for the Christmas and New Year festivities. You may have got your party dress, but what about your hair? Let’s Talk’s fashion editor Corinne Tuddenham-Finn takes a look at wigs to see how to get that special new style sorted.

Time for a quick change!

As we approach the party season and thoughts turn to what we’re going to wear for those fabulous events, the last thing we probably think about is our hair… right until the last minute.

And when we do think about it, many of us feel let down. Perhaps our hair is thinning, or it needs a fresh colour and cut and the hairdresser is completely booked up – or we just feel like a change.

Well now, just in time, wigs are making a comeback, and rightly so!

In the past, I’ve had dozens of wigs, the most memorable was the period when I had coloured my hair red … and then wanted to walk out of my hairdressers after a few hours and be blonde – impossible!

So that period of time while my hair grew enough root to be able to cut and colour, my collection of wigs just kept growing and growing.

Joan Collins is a celebrity-obsessed with wigs. Over her 35-year career, she has been seen wearing countless styles and colours, and it all started because she felt her own hair wasn’t thick enough to style.

Raquel Welch is another iconic and ever so glamorous actress who certainly knows the importance of great hair – and the usefulness of a great wig.

The Raquel Welch Wig range is thriving and its signature collection has many gorgeous looks crying out to be experimented with. Raquel herself champions the versatility in style that a wig can give the wearer, in terms of different lengths, styles and colours.
