Mercedes-Benz’s next generation ‘masterpiece of intelligence,’ the E-Class 250 Avant Garde takes a solid sedan and refines it even further.

FROM THE MOMENT i strapped myself into the driver’s seat of Mercedes-Benz’s latest E-Class, I had a distinct feeling I was going to have a great time with the car over the week that I had it. The model I was loaned, the E 250 Avant Garde, came in a sleek gunmetal coat of paint that added an extra dose of stylishness. Its streamlined curves made it easy to take in the elegant design Mercedes-Benz had invested into its E-Class model, dubbed the ‘masterpiece of intelligence.’ The more I examined the exterior design of the car, the more I appreciated its powerful, sexy and classy statement. The latest and tenth generation of the business saloon, was certainly a welcoming evolution.

With such an excellent first impression, it was satisfying to know that the car’s fantastic exterior design translated well with its interior too. Metallic outlines for the air conditioning vents, separation of wooden panelling and leather upholstery, buttons, driver’s wheel and screens work in harmony with the dark wooden tones and brown leather to create a distinct and luxurious environment for drivers and passengers.

Generous legroom was evident in the driver’s seat which rung true even at the back. Seats were plush, ergonomic and very comfortable, as expected of a car of this calibre.
