With a steady stream of contrasting movie roles in the past couple of years, a family history that consists of stars, and a dynamic role in The Politician—Ryan Murphy’s First Netflix Show alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Platt—actress-producer Zoey Deutch has Hollywood running through her veins

Figuratively, of course. Her bloodline—father, mother and her older sister—are all known in showbiz, so it was only natural that she followed suit. Her mother is actress Lea Thompson and dad is Howard Deutch, director of Pretty in Pink, while her sister, Madelyn Deutch, is a writer and an actress. It came as no surprise then, when the star-studded family worked on a project together (The Year of Spectacular Men) which the two sisters acted in. Their mother, Lea directed (her debut behind the camera) and their dad, Howard produced. “I spend a lot of time with my family,” Zoey says. “It’s the most important part of my life; making sure we have that time together. I feel extremely blessed to have been given the family that I have and I try to remind myself of that as much as I can.”
