Out of her comfort zone and heading over the horizon to her ‘Dream Country’.
At 34 years old, Nashville singer-song writer Sarah Darling has seen more than her fair share of life. In 2003 she reached the final 3 on E! Entertainment reality show 'The Entertainer' and by 2011 Darling had released two albums for major Nashville label Black River Entertainment. In 2012 her single Home To Me reached number 34 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and it seemed like a glittering career beckoned but then a split with Black River led to a second reality TV / talent show appearance (this time on ‘Rising Star’) and a whole lot of soul searching. She has performed over 80 times at The Opry and has supported major Nashville artists like Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw. She now stands on the verge of the next phase of her career when her new album, DREAM COUNTRY is released in January 2017.
DREAM COUNTRY, Sarah explains to me, is more than just an album. It’s a concept, it’s an idea, it’s an ethereal place where dreamers and stargazers can go to find themselves. Hard to believe that this level of thought and maturity is being produced by a singer who once released a song called Something To Do With Your Hands but that is the beauty of funding your album independently through a Pledge Campaign, which is where DREAM COUNTRY has its birth. Freed of the shackles of a major Nashville label, free of the narrow confines of genre expectations Sarah has been able to devote years of song-writing and years of herself into making the album.
