Casey Donovan shot to national fame after winning the second season of Australian Idol at only 16 years of age. Since then, she’s had huge success as a singer and performer, but being in the spotlight hasn’t always been easy.

Now 33, Casey has made no secret of her body struggles over the years. She admits that constant scrutiny over her weight is the hardest thing to digest as a public figure.

“It’s never easy hearing people feeling the need to make comments on my weight, and people tell you: ‘You have such a pretty face…’” Casey tells New Idea. “It certainly can take its toll, and many times it affects my mental health and really sets that self-doubt off.
