Duchess Catherine isn’t one for a public war of words, and has almost entirely stayed out of the battle between her husband and brother-in-law – even when she was publicly name-checked by Meghan in that Oprah interview!

But New Idea understands Kate was certainly not going to let an opportunity like having Harry at home without Meghan go begging, and used the time to bring the brothers back to speaking terms after more than a year of silent treatment.

“Kate doesn’t say much, but she has a quiet, calm way about her that makes people listen, and she turned that skill on both Harry and William while the family was gathered at Windsor to farewell Prince Philip,” says a source.
