A HORRIFIC CAR CRASH PROMPTED THE SOAP STAR TO FOLLOW HIS PASSION

After playing Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful for a quarter of a century, Ronn Moss devastated fans in 2012 when he said goodbye to his beloved character in favour of an uncertain future.

“People think it was just because of the money, but it wasn’t at all,” the 69-year-old heart-throb tells New Idea about the shock decision.

In reality, the catalyst for Ronn’s departure was a severe car crash he and his wife, Devin, suffered that same year.

“We were hit very hard,” remembers Ronn. “And it really changed things. I thought, ‘Holy crap!’ It was like something had hit me – and I mean esoterically.

“It had physically hit me hard, but also spun me around in a different direction. It changed my life. I felt like it was the universe telling me to go in a different direction, so I left the show and then had to reinvent myself.”
