Pedal Pushers

It is not without reason that the GVMC had launched a facility of renting cycle for people to pedal on the Beach Road, albeit for a few hours in the morning. Statistics show that cycling has now become the new sport and bicycles are outselling cars. It may not be a great transport option for many because of the unfriendly terrain of the city, but it certainly is an endless source of fun and frolic for kids and entertainment,competition and fitness routine for the rest. It can be a bit daunting, taking the leap from riding a bike for recreation to riding it for a purpose. That is how the wheels of Vizag Bay Cycling Club started spinning. Mr.Homesh Cetty, Founder of the club, tells you why one should get involved with his club and start cycling right away.

Inception 

Back in 2012, there was nothing like cycling expeditions to explore the scenic beauty of the city. That made me think of floating an active group for people to bond over the same passion. Initially, I set off with a small group but soon the numbers started swelling as people liked riding in company. We have 100 active cyclists.

Objective 

Cycling encourages socialising. It improves the stamina and helps to cut down that extra fat. By encouraging cycling as a regular mode of transport,we can cut down pollution caused by traffic fumes. Imagine Vizag with 50% bicycles on the road. That’s my aim.

Terms and Conditions 

There is no entry fee. Your enthusiasm and passion are what we look for. We have interactive sessions for aspirants for a better understanding of the club.

Meeting Point 

We meet at my Firefox BikeStation store, located near CBM Compound at 5:30 am every Sunday. We decide on the time and route beforehand and stick to it without fail.
