Hanna Halim, 24, realised that she was overweight and decided to put a stop to it and change.
What pushed you into fitness? “At the beginning of 2015, I recall having a day out with my college mates, and we had tons of photos taken. Then, I remember going “Ugh?! What is that?” when I saw myself in each shot – it was downright embarrassing. Until that moment, I was unaware that I was overweight. I was completely disillusioned about how I looked. That was a major wake-up call for me. I was 63kg back then, and it was pretty obvious that my weight was not ideal for my height. Throughout school, I’d been extremely insecure with low self-esteem. At that point, I’ve grown quite weary of feeling terrible about myself. I wanted a change – to be happy, confident, and healthy. Glad to say that’s exactly what happened! I lost 18kg, down to 45kg, and now I am 50kg, but with some muscles.”
