United Airlines launches a new route to shave hours off a flight to the United States. Karen Tee boards the inaugural flight to try the new business class service.

With a marathon flying time of over 15 hours from Singapore to Los Angeles and almost 18 hours on return, United Airlines’ SIN-LAX route is the longest nonstop flight to or from the United States. But it allows passengers to cut two hours from their flying time to the city of angels due to transit, and offers some amenities of UA’s new Polaris business class, the latter of which were implemented based on travellers’ feedback.
