LEBITSO RAMPHORE, 35, lives in Hartbeespoort with her husband and three children. She founded Ostibel Africa, selling organic shea butter, and also runs a small decor business.
THE IDEA My daughter battles with severe eczema, and for years I tested every prescribed topical cream on her skin, but nothing could ease her discomfort beyond a few hours. A friend suggested I apply raw shea butter to her skin, offering me a sample he’d brought back from Nigeria. It instantly relieved her dry skin! This sparked an idea for a new biz. If I imported and sold the butter in SA, I could also help other eczema sufferers. I run a home-decor company, and decided to sell off some stock to cover my start-up costs for Ostibel.
