Hidden Baby Healed Our Heart Break

Sitting in the passenger seat of the car, I rubbed my tummy and sighed. I was eight weeks pregnant and my hubby Gary, 37, was taking me to see the midwife.

‘I hate hospitals!’ I moaned. ‘I know, babe, but we need to check everything’s OK,’ he said.

Gary and I had been trying for a second child, so were over the moon to find out I was pregnant.

We couldn’t wait for Summer, 4, to have a little brother or sister.

After talking with the midwife and having my bloods taken, we were all set to go.

But back in the car, I felt dizzy and my vision was blurry…

Seconds later, though, I felt fine – thought it was just adrenaline after working myself up at hospital.

Rushed to hospital

It was a Saturday and I was due at my hairdressing job.

I’d called in sick with the flu the previous two Saturdays so didn’t want to let them down.

‘I’ll be fine,’ I told Gary. 

But at the salon, I sat down and turned to the girls. ‘I can’t cut hair today, I don’t even think I can stand up,’ I said.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open, just wanted to lie down and sleep. Before long, I was drifting in and out of consciousness…

The girls called Gary, who arrived at the salon.
