Whether you’ve already made those ideal fantasy football picks or your draft domination plans have yet to be unleashed, the real fun begins when the games turn real. Here’s a look at what’s on deck for the Washington Redskins’ fantasy players during the first month of the regular season.
THE OPPONENTS
Week 1 (Sept. 10) – Eagles
Pro Football Focus ranked Philadelphia’s front seven, headlined by defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, as No. 3 in the NFL. The secondary, almost the exact opposite, was slotted at 32 or last. However, that ranking came before the Eagles acquired star cornerback Ronald Darby from the Bills in August.
Week 2 (Sept. 17) -- at Rams
Another strong group up front, but that’s dependant on defensive tackle Aaron Donald ending his contract holdout. Donald, arguably the NFL’s best defender, could reportedly miss the first half of the season. As long he misses Week 2, the Redskins should be overjoyed. Los Angeles allowed a whopping 32 touchdown passes last season.
Week 3 (Sept. 24) – Raiders
Oakland invested heavily in the secondary over the last two drafts with cornerback Gareon Conley and safeties Karl Joseph and Obi Melifonwu. We’ll see how this trio helps transform the Raiders’ secondary. We already know Pro Bowl linebacker Kahlil Mack (26 sacks over the past two seasons) is a proven dynamo.
Week 4 (Oct. 2) - at Chiefs
